சென்னை:இந்திய சினிமாவின் வளர்ச்சிக்காக சிறந்த பங்களிப்பை வழங்கியமைக்காக திரைப்பட இயக்குநர் மணிரத்னத்துக்கு லண்டன் - இந்திய சர்வதேசத் திரைப்பட விழாவில் சாதனையாளர் (ஐகான்) விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது.
சென்னை:இந்திய சினிமாவின் வளர்ச்சிக்காக சிறந்த பங்களிப்பை வழங்கியமைக்காக திரைப்பட இயக்குநர் மணிரத்னத்துக்கு லண்டன் - இந்திய சர்வதேசத் திரைப்பட விழாவில் சாதனையாளர் (ஐகான்) விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது.
பிரிட்டனின் தலைநகரமான லண்டனில் அண்மையில் நடைபெற்ற இந்தப் பட விழாவில் மணிரத்னத்தின் "ரோஜா', "பம்பாய்', "தில் úஸ' ஆகிய படங்கள் திரையிடப்பட்டன. படங்களின் திரையிடலுக்குப் பிறகு அவருக்கு இந்த விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது. தனித்தன்மை மிக்க திரைப்படங்களை இயக்கியதால் இந்த விருது அவருக்கு வழங்கப்படுவதாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. விருதை பெற்ற பின்னர் இயக்குநர் மணிரத்னம் பேசியதாவது:
இந்த விருதைப் பெறுவதில் பெருமை கொள்கிறேன். லண்டனில் இந்தியத் திரைப்பட விழாவை நடத்துவது இந்த நூற்றாண்டின் புதிய அத்தியாயம். தற்போதைய சூழலில் இந்திய சினிமா புதிய பரிமாணங்களைத் தேடிச் சென்று கொண்டிருக்கிறது.
இது போன்ற விருதுகள் அடுத்தடுத்த தலைமுறை படைப்பாளிகளுக்கு புதிய உத்வேகத்தைக் கொடுக்கும். இந்த விருதை இனி வரும் காலங்களில் திறமை வாய்ந்த இளம் இயக்குநர்கள் பெறுவார்கள் என நம்புகிறேன் என்றார்.
நடிகை மனீஷா கொய்ராலாவுக்கு மனிதநேயமிக்க உணர்வுகளை வெளிப்படுத்திய நடிகைக்கான விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது. நேபாள நிலநடுக்கத்தின் போது மனிதாபிமான பணிகளை மேற்கொண்டு சேவை மனப்பான்மையுடன் செயல்பட்டதால் நடிகை என்பதைவிட மேன்மையான பெண்மணி என்பதை நிரூபித்து விட்டார் என அவருக்கு புகழாரம் சூட்டப்பட்டது. பாலிவுட் நடிகர் சூரஜ் சர்மாவுக்கு இளம் தலைமுறை நடிகர்களில் சிறந்த நடிப்பை வெளிப்படுத்திய நடிகருக்கான விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது. இந்த விருதை அவர் "உம்ரிக்கா' படத்துக்காக பெற்றார்.
தமிழில் வெளிவந்த "காக்கா முட்டை', ஹிந்திப் படமான நாச்சோமியா கும்பஸார்' ஆகிய இரு படங்களுக்கும் பார்வையாளர்களைக் கவர்ந்த திரைப்படத்துக்கான பிரிவில் விருதுகள் வழங்கப்பட்டன. சத்யஜித் ரே பெயரில் வழங்கப்படும் குறும்பட விருதை "கர்கோஷ்' என்ற குறும்படம் பெற்றது.
“Nachom-ia Kumpasar” (Let’s Dance to the Rhythm) has taken the Lebara Play audience award at the London Indian Film Festival, beating “Kaakaa Muttai” in a close race to the finish line.
“Nachom,” directed by Bardroy Barretto and revolving around Goan and its impact on Hindi film music, was so popular that several additional screenings had to be added to the festival.
“I am grateful for this award and to the team that made this happen,” Barretto said. “It goes to show that every region, every culture, has its own authentic stories, that today’s global audience is willing to celebrate, but when it stays true to its local audience. This film was our tribute to the music and musician of Goa, and this award reiterates the need to keep it alive in every way possible. I thank Goa for the music.”
“Kaakaa Muttai” (Crow’s Egg), directed by M. Manikandan, has been a favorite at film festivals and has been well received in India as well.
The London Indian Film Festival bestowed honors on helmer Mani Ratnam actors Suraj Sharma and Manisha Koirala The Bagri Foundation’s Satyajit Ray short award and cash of £1,000 ($1,558) went to “Khargosh” (Rabbit).
Ratnam gave a master class and a retrospective of his films including “Dil Se,” starring Koirala.
The sixth edition of the festival began July 6 and runs through July 26.
“We are really pleased that this year, the festival has expanded in stature and that we can highlight through our new awards just some of the many achievements of filmmakers and actors from India who may otherwise go unsung by the broader world film community,” Cary Sawhney, director of the Bagri Foundation London Indian Film Festival, said in a statement.
